About Us

The Club is a Members Club, which is a very welcoming place with families always welcome. Events are varied and include cabaret evenings, quiz and bingo nights which are still favourites and very popular. Many of you will know that one of the highlights of the Club’s year includes the Flower Show, which takes place in September and the Club is also home to Sutton Player’s pantomime.

The premises was built, by voluntary contributions in 1838 and was initially the site of the New Connexion Methodist Chapel. Following the First World War and after being unused for many years, two local business men bought the building and it became known as Sutton Ex-Servicemen’s Club, which was then used by members for billiards, badminton etc. During the Second World War the Government commandeered the building for various purposes and it was only in the late 50’s that the Club took on its current guise.

THE COMMITTEE

The Volunteer Committee strives to provide our Members with a warm and welcoming facility which offers a variety of  functions for all age ranges throughout the year.

THE MEMBERS LOUNGE & BAR

Refurbished in June 2016 the lounge is fresh, modern and has comfortable surroundings where you can meet friends and enjoy a social evening.

With it's own dedicated bar, the Members Lounge offers high speed a Wi-Fi connection and shows live sporting events via SKY SPORTS during normal opening hours. So come and watch your favourite sport, be it footbal, rugby, tennis or even the Olympics.

Offering a warm and friendly welcome, our bar staff are on hand to serve a range of delicious beers supplied by locally based Bollington Beer Supplies, along with the usual selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Whether you're attending the Club as a member or visitor, you can expect to meet good friends old and new in a comfortable setting that marries epicurean taste with modern convenience.

THE FUNCTION ROOM

With it's own bar it's a great place to hold a celebratory event, the room is available for events such as Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays, and sadly often for funerals to say goodbye to loved ones. Hired with or without the bar, we will work with you to ensure we offer the best possible surroundings for your event.

Room layout is very adaptable and can be set out in many ways, making it the ideal place for other events such as meetings, with 80-100 capacity depending on layout.
